Do you think? Or Do you always wish if there is a shortcut for learning a new skill, very fast?

The answer is affirmative. And with the following seven steps can make you learn any skill at the fastest possible way.
Let’s talk about, how you can easily learn any new skill very fast and quickly by simply following scientific steps.

1. Choose skill wisely

If you observe your surrounding, there are many skills that you may want to learn. That simply does not mean that you should learn anything. Please remember what skill you are targeting to learn, which must have your interest area, purpose to learn, and usage of the same. Otherwise, you will leave it, in half of a battle.

The best way to do this is, to jot down the list of skills that you want to work on. After that, you should do the exercise of giving priority to each skill, according to your purpose, area of interest, and practical implementations. Post that, choose one or a maximum of two things which is/are more required and usable skills. That will help you to go for the whole journey and you can finish it up.

2. Set Goals

Now, you have already chosen the skillset that you want to improve and also finalize how you want to improve. And also you have an interest, and purpose behind learning that particular skill. Now you have to set a clear goal for that skill. This means, up to what level, by what time, and how you will learn. You can set a strategy according to your connivance. Remember it should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and with time bound. This means it should be not vague, the learning stage to be measured, and also it should have set some specific time.

For example, you have chosen the skill that you want to improve is “Speaking English skills”. Your goal can be “I will improve my spoken English skill within six months so that I can initiate a formal conversation with my clients.”

In the above example, we have incorporated the SMART approach in the goal. Because we are
Specific with the skill that we learn: Spoken English skill
Measurable: Yes it is measurable by fluency rate, vocabulary test, and undergone with speaking projects.
Achievable: Yes it is achievable for anyone who is focused, and works hard.
Realistic: Yes it is a realistic and not a hypothetic scenario.
Time-bound: Six months

3. Find the right mentor

Having a mentor can reduce your time and efforts dramatically. Remember, the mentor should have already achieved what he claims to teach you. Because only theoretical knowledge will not work, he must have some practical experience. Having a mentor improves your learning very fast and makes your leaning-journey very interesting and enjoyable. Also, he will challenge, motivate and encourage you to push yourself beyond your limit. That will make your learning process very fast.

In the above example, you should have the right teacher who not only teaches but also take responsibility to teach/guiding. Ensure, he must have the level of fluency that you want to achieve.
The reality is, the right mentor can save you three to ten years of your life. That you can be a waste if you are not having a mentor.

4. Practice every single day

Tonny Robbins says, “Repetition is the mother of skills”. Which means whatever skills that you are targeting you need to have a specific time to do practice. No matter, how busy was your day, you must have to spend some time practicing every single day.

By Committing yourself to spare some time every day, make a routine and stick to it for faster results. Also, it will be easy for you, if you specify time and place because when you anchor that place and time in your mind for practice, your subconscious mind will automatically remind you to practice and you will be able to learn very fast.

5. Practice differently

Try to practice different-different manners every day. Let me give you an example here if you are learning guitar. And assume that you practice regularly every day. Now if you practice in a different-different manner every day, by doing one day you are practicing playing chords, the next day you are practicing leading, the next day playing with singing, and go on and on. If you do it, you will learn the width and depth both at the same time, which will surely raise your bar in a dramatic way.

6. Incorporate all your senses

We, as human beings, learn from our senses. We have five senses; Listening, Watching, kinetics, smelling, and tasting. The more senses you involve, the faster will progress. Likewise, if you incorporate all your senses into the learning process, the process will be more enjoyable, memorable, and faster.
In our old example of learning to speak English skills, we have to learn with maximum senses. Accordingly, we can start learning through listening, watching, mimicking, and practical workshop of speaking exercises.

7. Enjoy the learning faces

As such, any learning has four faces. A. Unknown by conscious and sub-conscious, B. Known by conscious but unknown by sub-conscious, C. Known by sub-conscious but unknown by conscious, and d. Known by conscious and subconscious. Try, to enjoy every faces, because that’s a process, and sooner you will become a master in that particular skill. Also, don’t forget to celebrate every small success of your journey. Because learning anything faster than ever before needs consistent effort and hard work. If you can celebrate every small achievement your journey can be more enjoyable and as a result, you will not loose your focus. Also, you will complete your journey.

All the best!!
